The Bryan 8th grade volleyball team battled Defiance in a competitive three-set match but came up short, falling 18-25, 25-19, and 18-25.
Bryan showed resilience throughout the match, battling back to take the second set before Defiance secured the third set and the match.
Leading at the service line was Anni Grant (6 aces), Harper Smith (3 aces), and Bryan Schlachter (2 aces).
Defensively, Molly Ruffer (5 digs), Harper Smith (2 digs), and Brynn Schlachter (2 digs) helped keep the rallies alive.
On offense, Kinlee Yoder and Molly Ruffer each contributed 3 kills.
The Lady Bears travel to Patrick Henry on Tuesday, 5:00pm, to battle against the Patriots.
