The Lady Bears volleyball team defended home court with a four-set victory over the Holgate Tigers, winning 25-18, 25-21, 12-25, 25-19. Bryan set the tone early by capturing the first two sets, 25-18 and 25-21. Although Holgate responded with a strong 25-12 third set, Bryan regained control in the fourth frame to seal the match 25-19.
Jozie Cordy directed the offense with 28 assists, while Kelsie Thiel and Elle Moreland lead the team each with 8 kills at the net. Gisele Kidston anchored the defense with 12 digs, while contributing 4 aces from the service line. Reese Ruffer added 9 digs from the back row and Thiel also chipped in 3 aces as well.
JV won in two sets 25-22 , 25-16- taking their record to 2-0 to start the season.
The Lady Bears will head to Fairview to take on the Apaches, Thursday August 27th with Freshman opening their season starting at 4:45pm, JV and Varsity to follow.
