The Bryan Lady Bears secured a four-set victory over the Lady Indians, prevailing with set scores of 25-13, 20-25, 25-17, and 25-16.
Bryan’s attack was led by Alea Shilling and Braya Hepker, who posted 10 kills each. Kelsie Thiel provided a huge multi-category boost at the net, hammering down 9 kills to go along with 3 blocks. Setting up the offense all match was Jozie Cordy, who led the attacks with 35 assists while adding 3 service aces.
The defensive back row held strong behind Gisele Kidston, who racked up a team-high 19 digs to go with 2 aces. Reese Ruffer chipped in 12 digs and contributed 3 aces. Mallie Grant dominated behind the service line, leading the team’s serving pressure with exceptional 7 aces.
The Bears now are 2-3 in the league and 6-8 overall. They will host Central Catholic in another home match-up Thursday, October 1st with Freshman starting at 4:45 and JV/Varsity to follow.
