The boys and girls cross country teams competed at Regionals on Saturday at Tiffin.<\/p>\n

The boys team finished one spot out of the team state qualifiers while placing in 5th with 112 points, 7 points behind 4th place Celina.\u00a0 Xander Fackler led the way with an outstanding performance, claiming Regional Runner-Up for the second year in a row while running the best time ever recorded by a Bryan athlete at Regionals.\u00a0 His time of 15:52.4 was only 1\/10 of a second behind Regional Champion Ty Rosengarten from Ottawa-Glandorf.\u00a0 Rosengarten won with a time of 15:52.3.\u00a0 Junior Braydon Buchanan’s outstanding season came to a close while placing 21st, missing top 16 by 5 spots.\u00a0 Freshmen Elijah Cummins and Malaki Neilson placed 33rd and 37th.\u00a0 Tony Foust rounded out the scoring 5 for the Golden Bears with a personal best time of 18:19 while placing 54th.\u00a0 Nye Bradbee and Spencer Woodward also competed for the Golden Bears.\u00a0 Six of seven varsity runners will return for the boys next year.<\/p>\n

The girls team finished in 7th place.\u00a0 They were led by Kate Thormeier’s Regional Runner-Up performance.\u00a0 Kate finished 7 seconds behind the Regional champion from Port Clinton.\u00a0 This was the best individual girls performance in school history.\u00a0 Nicolette Stickney closed out her season, finishing in 20th and just missing individual stat qualification.\u00a0 Arella Alyanakian placed 49th, Eden Alyanakian placed 66th, Kelby Knight placed 68th, and Kassi McDade placed 82nd.\u00a0 There were no girls on this year’s ladies team.<\/p>\n
