Bryan falls to Springfield in Home Opener

The Bryan Lady Bears varsity volleyball team dropped a tough contest to the Springfield Blue Devils, falling in three straight sets despite a high-energy, competitive effort throughout the afternoon.

The match opened with an absolute thriller in the first set, as both squads traded points back and forth past the regulation mark. The Lady Bears pushed Springfield to the limit before ultimately dropping a nail-biting frame, 27-29. Bryan kept up the pressure in the second set with relentless defensive rallies and sharp playmaking, but the Blue Devils managed to edge ahead late to take the set 21-25. Springfield then secured the match victory by capitalizing on late momentum in the third frame, 18-25.

Jozie Cordy engineered the offense masterfully, dishing out 26 assists while serving up three aces. Gezzy Kidston anchored the defense with a team-high 15 digs while adding 5 kills to support the attack.  Kelsie Thiel led the net attack with a team-high 9 kills while adding 3 digs on defense.
