The Bryan Lady Bears dropped a hard-fought, three-set volleyball match to the Fairview Lady Apaches in competitive non-conference action.
The first set proved to be an absolute thriller, with both teams trading points past the standard 25-point mark before the Lady Apaches eventually edged out a 31-29 victory. Fairview carried that momentum into the second set to claim a 25-15 win, but Bryan battled back fiercely in the third set, falling just short in a tight 25-21 finish.
Mallie Grant set the tone behind the service line for Bryan with three aces, while Jozie Cordy orchestrated the offense with 15 assists. On attack, Alea Shilling led the net play with eight kills while also contributing heavily on defense with eight digs. Ady Fruchey added eight digs of her own, supporting a strong back-row effort anchored by Gisele Kidston’s team-high 19 digs.
The Lady Bears will look to bounce back on Saturday, August 29th, when they travel to take on the Napoleon Wildcats.
